Visiting Cheburashka
В гостях у Чебурашки
Story through the endingCheburashka usually visits Gena because his telephone booth is cramped. This time he invites Gena for tea, then admits he has neither kettle nor cooker. Gena carries both over. A mobile phone call adds tea and sweets to the shopping list. After enjoying the visit, Gena suggests meeting at his better-equipped home next time. The joke keeps their affection intact while exposing the practical work behind hospitality.

A new cover, illustrator, reading exercise or abridged extract is not automatically a new story. This catalogue groups reprints under their underlying work. Dates preceded by ≤ establish that a text was available by that year; they do not claim a verified first publication.
Place in the world
The books are the first branch of the world, beginning with Eduard Uspensky’s 1966 story. People and speaking animals work, rent homes and make friends in the same town. Later texts range from gentle children’s adventures to satire about business, bureaucracy and crime; they do not form one seamless screen chronology.
Keep five shelves separate: the books, Soviet puppet films, Japanese adaptations, new Russian animation and live action. Names and images travel between them, but events do not automatically transfer. A crocodile employee, a human grandfather and a bureau founder can be related interpretations without sharing a single life.
