Authors & sources
OverviewEduard Uspensky created the literary characters. Roman Kachanov developed the Soviet films with him, and Leonid Shvartsman designed the recognisable screen images. Klara Rumyanova voices Cheburashka and Vasily Livanov voices Gena in the original cycle. Music, puppet animation and writing all contribute to the characters’ identity.
Story & key events
This archive distinguishes a work from its reprint or re-edited release. A new plot gets a separate entry; collections remain attached to their component stories. Original titles are kept beside translated editorial titles. Release years describe publication, not the characters’ age. Announcements never receive invented endings.
